Here is a good place to start

I’m here. This is my blog / soon to be portfolio / business site (coming soon). The idea of this website and taking this direction in my life has been a work in progress for far too long – always living in my head (and heart). I have finally started the business I’ve always wanted to start.

I’ve got a lot of work to do. It not even a business right now. But my goal is to be an illustrator and designer. I’ve started selling my work on stock photo sites but I want to build on that — a LOT.

The primary focus of this blog and website (at least in the beginning) will be me sharing my process and journey as I find my way back to being an artist and illustrator. I’ve put that aside for far too long.

Working as a freelance illustrator and designer – and all that entails. I’m not sure what form it will take.

First up is cleaning the cobwebs off my creativity and finding my preferred illustration style.

I’ve been working with Adobe Photoshop for over 25 years and love it. Even though I earned a B.A. in Fine Arts, for too many years now I put aside working with traditional art materials in favor of digital art.

Part of that was due to lack of studio space and because I enjoyed using Photoshop so much. But my artistic skill got rusty. Slowly and inevitably fear and doubt took it’s place.

So I start on this journey with a lot of hope but also a lot of dread as I’m not comfortable sharing the process so transparently.

But I’ve got to start somewhere, so here goes…
